I’ve had a bit of blogging hiatus over the last year but I’m back – this time with a new substack newsletter, VC Down Under.
I’m going to keep this blog live for posterity and will keep posting from time to time but I’l be posting more frequently on VC related topics on VC Down Under. So make sure to subscribe today to stay up to date with what I’m seeing and hearing in early stage AI, tech and investing in Australia.
My first post is on what would a $270b AI investment look like for Australia? I posted the thought experiment on LinkedIn and got a bunch of comments so I wanted to share it more broadly.
Other things I’ve been up to:
- Launched a new early stage tech podcast – Galileo Ventures Podcast with myself and Hugh Stephens, my co-founder and partner at Galileo. Spotify, Apple, RSS links here. Check out our latest episode: EP09: $1B to Train AI, Canva’s $1.6B Secondary, Australia’s New Tech Unicorn, X’s Decline.
- Investing! – We’ve been busy investing in early stage startups with now 20 in the portfolio. Subscribe to our Galileo blog and newsletter to hear the latest. I’ll be sharing some personal thoughts on my Substack of course too.
- Fundraising – Just like the founders we back, we’ve also started the fundraise journey for our upcoming Galileo Fund II. I’ll be sharing more on that in the weeks ahead.
- Meeting founders and investor around the world – Over the past 3 years I’ve been visiting tech centres annually which Im going to share more about by primarily spending more time now in SF, NYC, London as we start to expand Galileo’s footprint beyond AU.
